May 29, 2009 -First trip to the ER

Sadly the one time I didn’t take my bag with my camera with me was when I ended up taking my dad to the emergency room. I did take a photo on my camera but it is just not the same…. Dad and I were working doing some finishing touches on some cabinets when he slipped with the box knife and cut himself. It really wasn’t that bad of a cut and normally we would have just put some toilet paper on it and wrapped it with electrical tape (the supplies we had on hand) but because he is currently taking a blood thinner he knew he wouldn’t be able to get the bleeding to stop. So 3 hours later with a couple stitches and a little glue (because he sliced through his finger nail) of course it was a new blade we were able to head home. It was nice that we could just lock the duplex and run. We were running the air compressor and using the tailgate as a work bench so I just unattached everything and pushed some stuff into the garage and other stuff back into the truck and threw the tailgate up and went. Of course at that point I was barefoot because I had to take my boots off to stand on the counters so I drove barefoot and threw my boots back on at the ER, crazy afternoon.
