October 24, 2009- Family Weekend 2009

Because it was the Senior Recognition game mom and dad flew out so they could walk me across the field.
The following photos are just shots that were snapped throughout the game.

Parading over to the stands

Eowyn, Our reason's for doing band are very similiair. It is for the people!

The 21 Seniors

This is my group of friends. A few are missing but this is the majority. I think band is the only thing we all have in common which makes life interesting.

Sadly, it started to rain so we had to move our photo shoot indoors.

October 18, 2009- The Payback

Our Door was Duct Taped Shut with this sign on it.
This was their payback. They ductaped our doors so we couldn't get out and then they set a trap for us of our own making. The best part is they didn't understand that all of the cups have to be close enough that you can't step between them. Sarah was up first so she took down her doors tape and then we just walked right now. With not one of us being late for church.

October 17, 2009 - 1,300 Little Cups and lots of buckets of water

It took the 6 of us about an hour and 15 minutes to fill Ben Bestor's room with 1,300 cups filled with water. the spacing is so close that you cant get between them. You have to pick each one up and dump it out to get into your room :)  I got the idea in Australia. Later I will post pics of the clean up and their retaliation.

September 26,2009 - Where were you when they turned on the lights?

This was the College of Wooster's first ever night home football game. Which was made possible by the donation of a new Astro Turf Field and Lights which is the first in all of Wayne County.
While it still took an entire day because we were in kilt from 3-10pm.

October 9, 2009- Mud Sliding!

Not all of us were keen on getting muddy.

After Think Fast what should we do..... I know lets go mud sliding!! It was too cold for me to participate so I was the photographer. Gotta love these ladies!!!

October 9, 2009 - Think Fast...or not Fast Enough

Think Fast came to Wooster, I believe it was sponsored by Wooster Activities Crew. It was a game show on pop culture that we made teams for and then had the ability to win $200. Earlier that night our Suite went out for dinner at Das Essenhaus a local Amish Restaurant in Shreve, Ohio. So the boys decided they were going to have a boys only team so we had a girls only team. While we were all doing really well at the beginning as the questions got more and more odd our team just wasn't quite up to date with our pop culture. The Questions were like "What was the name of Outkast's 3rd Album?.... I don't know! The boys did much better but not quite good enough to win the cash. It was quite the night! There were some very interesting teams. One in particular got booed off the stage because he made up his own "rap" that was completely distasteful!

October 6, 2009- The Bachelor Filming

7 ladies Signifying Jesse's 7 sons who were not chosen
Our Host
Eowyn is our Texas Girl, she is a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader

We have been asked to create and perform a skit for InterVarsity's Ohio's Great Lakes East Fall Conference. I'm not quite sure how we received this honor but it is a little intimidating because we have to perform our skit for 200 people. I'm not really a skit person, I have never really been in a serious, well acted skit. The passage we are basing it off of is 1 Samuel 16. It is where Samuel is sent to anoint the next king after Saul. I wasn't excited about a live skit for 5-7 minutes so we decided to do part of it as a video.
I couldn't really picture what it would look like and Julie L. suggested we do something like a beauty contest, so as I thought about it her great idea got adapted.
I was in Starbucks studying the passage and dreaming about what it could look like and The Bachelor came to mind. That Samuel would be the Bachelor, the seven girls would be 7 of Jesse's sons and the 8th son David would actually be one of the camera crew. Because like David is the unexpected choice you never expect the Bachelor to choose the camera girl. So we decided to do all the background stuff and the first round of cuts on the screen and the final rose ceremony is going to be live.
We shall see how it goes!

September 20, 2009 - Soaking Marching Band

Marching Band is one of my favorite parts about the College of Wooster, we take ourselves somewhat seriously, we are here to have a fun time and put on a good show. We don't spend our lives practicing just 3 times a week and we have SWEET uniforms. These are from one of our first games this season..... Sadly as you can tell it was pouring!!!! But Oh Wait, I'm in Ohio the land that is afraid of a little rain.... that and our uniforms are like 99% wool which doesn't do rain well so we get to wear these Harry Potter like rain jackets. Photos Courtesy of Kyle Thomas, we made a deal, he took photos of the band, I let him borrow my Nikon. Win Win for both of us! Now only if the Football team would win. In this huddle we are being told the great news that because of the rain and the lightening delay we don't have to stay for the second half and the serenade was cancelled. All the photos are in pretty much exact reverse order as how they happened. Exit Scotland/Scotland the Brave the entire band forms a line that extends almost the entire field. In years with larger bands it goes endzone to endzone.

I'm to the left of the Drummajor right before the baritone

Highland Dancers

Coming down the hill. I was offering $5 to any band member who tripped and slid in the mud down the hill. Depending on the conditions staying on your feet is hard to do. No takers this week but we still have the entire season ahead of us.

Parading over to the stadium. We take over Beall Ave and parents and alumni line the way taking photos and video

My friend Brett is the Drummajor in the middle
