Dec. 13-23 Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!

Who knew that pretty much the day I flew in it started snowing and it stopped only for a little while during the next week. In Oly we got around 15- 18 inches. That is the most snow we have ever had in Oly during my lifetime. It was pretty but also a really big hassel because Oly's road crews were not prepared so the roads were terrible and most people couldn't get out of their driveways for the entire week before Christmas. However, the F-350 could handle it so our plans for the most part weren't ruined just took much longer to do.

December 2008 A Christmas WONDERland

Dancing Hula Christmas Bear, Picture doesn't do the swiveling hips/pelvic thrusting justice.
This may be one of the tackiest displays of Christmas cheer in the world. Well maybe just Wooster, Ohio. This is a family that decorates their house with these display boxes and then someone dresses up as Santa. This is my first time seeing this display but for some of my friends visiting Santa is a yearly tradtion.

December 11, 2008 - Airplane

We might be to big for this but...We thought we would give it a try. As you can tell from the middle picture it didn't last long with Ben flying. He hit the table, ground and chair pretty hard in his descent. AKA I couldn't hold him up anylonger. This wasn't quite as fun as I remember it in my childhood. Feet holding all of your weight against your stomach really isn't that comfortable.

My Fishy Friends Ames and Simo

Ames and Simo.
I am suprised though glad to say that Ames and Simo are still alive. I wasn't sure they would make it to christmas but Annie convinced me that I needed new friends. They are now being watched for the break and we will see if they survive this break experience.

December 6, 2008 - Tacky Christmas Sweater Party + Christmas Caroling

Violet Joy's first Christmas Caroling experience
Cookies and Cocoa
We had our 1st Annual Tacky Christmas Sweater Party. It was fun. Probably the lowest key party in all of Wooster. Went Caroling and then ended the evening back at Hider House for cocoa, cookie decorating, and White Christmas. We were all just tired from the week before and gearing up for finals but wanted a break. Here are some photos from the Party and Christmas Caroling.

December 4 More Pranks before Ben leaves for a Semester

Ben went out of the house for some reason and my first idea was I want to do something to his room.... Claire was like you should hide all of his boxers. After being like No that's mean We were like "Let's Do it!" We took all of his folded boxers out of his drawer and "decorated" the house with them. Pinned them to the ceiling, hung them on the Christmas tree, etc. they were everywhere. He came in without noticing them for a long time and then he started collecting them and we hinted to where some of them were. My favorite was Ben "You should get some Ice Cream out of the Freezer" when he sees his frozen block of underwear his first reaction is not anything you would expect but "I was going to wear these tomorrow!" After the rest of his scavenger hunt he decided to get me back by rubbing the frozen ones in my face. While this is not something I wanted at all a struggle ensued. (3rd photo down) in the end the I don't know who technically won but I count it a victory that nothing was shoved into my face.

Nov. 30 A Lovely Thanksgiving with the Lewis's

For Thanksgiving I got to go home with my friend Claire. I went with her last year and had such a blast I wanted to go again. Her family is wonderful. I always enjoy every minute spent with them. It was a great weekend. Claire actually went to bed at 5pm thanksgiving night so her mom and a couple other family memembers and I went to Michaels and bought some craft supplies to make ornaments. It was great I was able to make lots of ornaments for our Hider Home Christmas Tree. Though ours didn't quite turn out like Martha Stewarts they were still pretty Amazing. I don't know how Martha made those wire stars so perfect. Her mom is a pastor in PCUSA church and I really enjoying going to church with them and learning how other denominations "do church".

Chase looking longingly at the Turkey

We went to this really great Thai restaurant. I loved the idea for the ceiling design
We played some horse to kill some time. As you can see from my talented shot here.
My friends little brother has taken up wrestling he is on his schools Freshmen team which has around 60 freshmen. Hey goes to a large school. It brought back so many memories from when Andrew was in High School.

In running to get away from someone I accidently knocked her board off her door and broke it.

We doing little pranks to eachother. We have started small because we don't want it to esculate horribly because we do have to live together. I was just showing Ben our love for him here.

Braces! Yea!

Pre Braces

I now have braces! YEA! Everyone is like why? my response is I would much rather be a 2o year old with braces then a 35 year old.
They aren't to bad. I have embraced them. One of my friends complemented me and said that she was really impressed with my self confidence because I wasn't always trying to hide them but that I had the confidence that they didnt faze me. I thought that was really nice of her to say.
So you can kind of tell from the photo... but the way I look at them is like a Mullet except for on my teeth. Business in the front....Party in the Back. You can see the clear brackets aren't extremely noticable but then the back ones are silver and I got to pick my colors so I went with the traditional Christmas colors.
We have all been reminicing about our favorite colors from back in the day. Like the first time I had braces. So I am going to make the back a tribute to our past.
I have braces at 20/21 I've got to embrace it.

Band Banquet.

So these are all the fun people I live with.

The trombones after there second year are given a hat/trombone cover

We had the end of the year band banquet.
I receieved my Letter for Band because I have done it 3 semesters. So now I have a large W that would go on a lettermans jacket to hang on my wall. It was a fun night of recapping the season. We ended with a Hider Home group photo because Ben is going abroad next semester and it was perfect timing because only 2 people weren't in band so we were all dressed up.
