Please don't call us the C word.

I don't know what C word you were thinking of because I'm talking about "Camp". I have nothing against Camp, I love Camp! I came to know Jesus personally through my experience at Wi-Ne-Ma Christian Camp. However, we are not a typical camp. Yes students come here to have enjoyable summer memories and to the average eye you might look at Stonewater Ranch and think "what a beautiful camp" and while our facility does have a camp look it is quite different. What is that difference you may be asking? Well let me show you.
One of the main differences is that every trip is customized to what the group is looking for. Whether it be a boy scout group, youth group or school group every trip is carefully designed to meet the individual needs and desires of that group.

Everything we do has a purpose.(I know this sounds like a lofty statement but I truly believe it) Some of the purpose's might be light, lets get to know each others names by whacking each other with a fun noodle while others have a bigger purpose. For example the photo above is call Helium Pole. The simple goal is for everyone to have both of their pointer fingers touching the pole and to take it from waist level to the ground. Simple right....  Not quite. During this initiative it is very easy figuratively and literally to point fingers at others. It's not working because...
"insert blame game here" While it can be fun this 'simple' initiative can take groups hours to complete and gives us as their guides the opportunity to walk through it with them, problem solve, encourage, and facilitate so that it isn't just a fun 'game' but a learning experience. That can be used in the future as these groups continue to interact with each other and maybe some of the emotions and feelings that they experienced in this hypothetical situation can help them interact in their real life situation.
