September 20, 2009 - Soaking Marching Band

Marching Band is one of my favorite parts about the College of Wooster, we take ourselves somewhat seriously, we are here to have a fun time and put on a good show. We don't spend our lives practicing just 3 times a week and we have SWEET uniforms. These are from one of our first games this season..... Sadly as you can tell it was pouring!!!! But Oh Wait, I'm in Ohio the land that is afraid of a little rain.... that and our uniforms are like 99% wool which doesn't do rain well so we get to wear these Harry Potter like rain jackets. Photos Courtesy of Kyle Thomas, we made a deal, he took photos of the band, I let him borrow my Nikon. Win Win for both of us! Now only if the Football team would win. In this huddle we are being told the great news that because of the rain and the lightening delay we don't have to stay for the second half and the serenade was cancelled. All the photos are in pretty much exact reverse order as how they happened. Exit Scotland/Scotland the Brave the entire band forms a line that extends almost the entire field. In years with larger bands it goes endzone to endzone.

I'm to the left of the Drummajor right before the baritone

Coming down the hill. I was offering $5 to any band member who tripped and slid in the mud down the hill. Depending on the conditions staying on your feet is hard to do. No takers this week but we still have the entire season ahead of us.

Parading over to the stadium. We take over Beall Ave and parents and alumni line the way taking photos and video

My friend Brett is the Drummajor in the middle
